In the episode "A Nice Neutral Smell", in Coach Briggs' office, after Casey punched bully Bailey Bennett in the face for messing with Beth Chapin, he breaks the news to Casey that since she is doing magnificent at track and she is besting other competitors, she earns her scholarship to get accepted into Clayton Prep. Although, he warns her to not assault someone again.

In the episode "Juiced!" of the second Season, Coach Briggs is briefly seen in the autism peer group with Amber and other autistic teenagers.

In the episode "Magical Bird No. 2" of the final Season, Coach Briggs asks if Casey is fine with remaining at Newton High School after she gave up her scholarship to drop out of Clayton prep. She responds back that she does prefer her old school and her old track team over Clayton Prep, since Clayton Prep pushes her too hard to only care about winning rather than having fun with other players, resulting in her losing passion for jogging. He warmly welcomes her back.

in the episode "Dessert at Olive Garden", Coach Briggs is last seen spending time with Casey and his other students on track, allowing her to enjoy jogging again.
